Acne Scar Management

  • Fillers to smoothen scars.
  • Chemical peels to lighten dark mark.
  • Fractional radiofrequency.
  • Erbium YAG laser and CO2 laser are used to treat acne scars.
  • Micro needling.
  • Microdermabrasion
  • A one step procedure – Subcision or intradermal nanofat grafting.
  • This procedure involves scar subcision to release fibrotic strands, autologous fat filling of the scars, Co2 laser for skin resurfacing and finally applying a chemical peel to lighten acne marks.

Chemical Peeling

  • A chemical peel treatment that reduces uneven skin tone, skin texture, acne scars, acne marks, dull skin and spots.
  • It essentially comprises of AHA (glycolic/lactic acid) or BHA (salicylic acid) which potently exfoliates the epidermal or superficial layer of the skin. This treatment results in clear, even-toned, smooth, bright and glowing skin.
  • A chemical peel may cause redness, tenderness and irritation.

Micro Needling

  • Micro needling is a new technique that is found to be very effective in repairing and rejuvenating the skin. The procedure involves using a derma roller (a facial roller with micro needles) in particular movements to stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen has been known to have skin-repairing properties.
  • This treatment reduces the appearance of pigmentation, large pores, acne scars, and fine lines and to an extent, signs of ageing. Micro needling results in bright, even-toned, smooth, plump and glowing skin. This procedure is painless and has the additional benefits of increasing the circulation to the face.

Microdermabrasion

  • This procedure involves using a medical-grade blade to gently scrape off the dead cells to reveal brighter, healthier skin below. It is often combined with chemical peel (AHA/BHA) to attain the most effective exfoliation and the best results.
  • Microdermabrasion results in reduced dark-spots, acne scars, acne marks, tan and pores – revealing brighter, glowing, clear, smooth and rejuvenated skin.

Laser Scar Correction

  • This is a non-surgical procedure that uses the technique of lasers or intense pulsing lasers. It works by heating the skin along with the option to penetrate deeper into the dermal layers. The heat stimulates the production of collagen along with resurfacing the epidermis.
  • It can also be used in combination with PRP/vampire facelift for better results. Laser technology emits stronger rays and may require a topical gel to minimize discomfort. It results in clearer, tighter, smoother skin which enhances a youthful appearance.

Post Procedure

  • n all the above procedures the following protocol has to be followed.
  • No makeup to be used except humectants prior-treatment or post-treatment.
  • Avoiding sun exposure is advisable and using sun protection of 30+ SPF is recommended. There is no downtime and the procedure is typically performed within 1 to 2 hr.
